Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I edit a journal or prompt entry, will the AI reflection update?
A: No, the AI reflection is generated only when you first save your entry. If you want a new reflection, you can create a new entry.
Q: How do I become a premium user?
A: You can upgrade to premium directly from within the app. On iOS, purchases are processed securely through the App Store. On Android, purchases are processed through Google Play Store. All subscriptions are managed through your device's app store.
Q: What features are premium-only?
A: Premium users get AI-powered reflections on every entry, weekly and monthly insights & analytics, voice input for journaling, unlimited journal entries and daily prompts, and priority support. Free users can still journal and use daily prompts, but with limited entries per month.
Q: Is my data private and secure?
A: Yes, your data is completely private and secure. All journal entries and prompt responses are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and stored locally on your iOS or Android device. Your data never leaves your device unencrypted. If you enable optional cloud backup, all data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We never read, analyze, or share your personal thoughts. For detailed information about our security measures, visit our Security page.
Q: Can I delete my account?
A: Yes, you can delete your account at any time from your profile settings within the app. Please note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data—including journal entries stored on your device, AI reflections, prompt history, and insights—will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored. We care about your wellbeing, so please only proceed if you're certain this is right for you.
Q: Can I use the app offline?
A: Yes! SoulFrame is built with an offline-first architecture. Your entries are stored locally on your iOS or Android device and are always available, even without internet connection. You can write, read, and review your journal entries completely offline. Cloud backup is optional and can be enabled or disabled in your profile settings.
Q: How does cloud backup work?
A: Cloud backup is completely optional and user-controlled. If you choose to enable it, your data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS) before being stored securely. This allows you to access your journal entries across multiple devices. Only you can access your encrypted data. You can enable or disable cloud backup at any time in your profile settings within the app. Your data remains secure whether stored locally or in the cloud.
